Job summary
United Health Services (UHS) in New York's Southern Tier seeks a Clinical Informatics Specialist with clinical expertise to bridge patient care and health technology. You will optimize EHRs, streamline workflows, and support enterprise initiatives across UHS, partnering with Epic analysts and IT to improve quality and safety of care.
The role reports to the Director of Informatics and requires a nursing or clinical background, at least five years in inpatient or ambulatory settings, and Epic
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or relevant clinical field.
- Five years of clinical experience in inpatient or ambulatory care.
- One Epic certification within one year of hire.
- Preferred: Master's degree in clinical informatics.
- Four or more years in clinical informatics related experience; Epic experience & certifications; National certification in clinical informatics.
Responsibilities
- Serves as a clinical expert, resource, and liaison between IT and clinical operations.
- Meets with nursing preceptors and new clinical hires to promote understanding of clinical documentation requirements.
- Provides support for new UHS providers and nursing/clinical staff.
- Assists with provider personalization and workflow optimization.
- Collaborates with informatics team and Epic analysts for issue resolution.
- Participates in Epic application testing for optimal workflows and regulatory compliance.
