Qualifications

• If not certified, must obtain Epic Clinical Informaticist Certification within 9 months, with two retakes allowed.
• Recommend achieving Epic proficiency/certification within two years.

Responsibilities

This position is well-informed about informatics processes to support proficiency within the Nurse Informaticist family. This position is knowledgeable about clinical processes and practice, relevant regulatory mandates, and principles of quality/safety improvement. The Nurse Informaticist serves as the primary interface between clinicians, providers, patient care services and Information Services (IS) to support multidisciplinary clinical initiatives and projects. This position is supported by the Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) to provide strategic guidance regarding the maturation of the integrated EHR to increase efficiency in the delivery of care while optimizing clinician workflow. **Qualifications:*** Must have a Bachelor’s of Science (BSN) in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing* Prefer a Master’s degree in business or healthcare fields from an accredited school* Must have at least three (3) years of nursing patient direct care experience* Must have one (1) year of experience in Epic or equivalent system documenting and reviewing patient charts**Certification/Licensure:*** Must have current RN license or valid temporary permit with the Texas Board of Nursing; or, valid Compact RN license* Current certification in Epic preferred* If not already certified, must obtain Epic Clinical Informaticist Certification within 9 months of placement in the position, including 2 test retakes* Recommended to obtain Proficiency/Certification in the Epic application supported within 2 years of placement in the position
