Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Nurse Extern to assist with basic patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will support ADLs, mobility, and patient flow in a hospital setting, while developing foundational clinical skills and documenting vitals and intake/output.

Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited nursing program with a minimum GPA of 2.5 and have completed introductory nursing coursework.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required; active enrollment in an accredited nursing program and good standing.
• Maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
• Foundational nursing coursework required to participate in supervised clinical practice.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living under RN direction.
• Support mobility and transfer of patients per RN guidance.
• Record routine vital signs and intake/output; report changes to RN.
