Job summary

Red Rocks Care Center is seeking an experienced Nurse Educator in Gallup, NM to orient and educate nursing staff, ensure safe care, and develop ongoing education programs. The role reports to the Director of Nursing and includes surveillance of competency and performance.

Requirements include an RN license and 3+ years of clinical experience, with LTC and educator background preferred. A $10,000 retention bonus is offered along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current RN license.
• Minimum three years full-time or equivalent clinical experience preferred.
• Two years of clinical experience in long-term care nursing with one year as an educator preferred.
• Excellence in clinical nursing skills required.
• Experience in Gerontology preferred.
• Training and/or experience in adult learning preferred.

Responsibilities

• Orient and educate all nursing personnel in the nursing center.
• Ensure safe, effective nursing care according to guidelines and procedures.
• Develop education programs in response to staff needs and teach current practices.
• Supervise and monitor new nursing employees during orientation.
• Conduct annual competency testing and evaluate nursing staff performance.
• Oversee Employee Health Program including TB and hepatitis vaccines and influenza immunizations.
