Job summary

Red Rocks Care Center in Gallup, NM is seeking an experienced Nurse Educator to orient and educate nursing staff and ensure safe, quality care in accordance with guidelines. A $10,000 retention bonus is offered.

The role reports to the Director of Nursing, develops education programs, supervises new nurses, conducts competency testing, and oversees Employee Health activities. RN license required and gerontology experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current RN license.
• Minimum three years full-time clinical experience preferred.
• Two years of clinical experience in long-term care with one year as educator preferred.
• Excellence in clinical nursing skills required.
• Experience in Gerontology preferred.
• Training and/or experience in adult learning preferred.

Responsibilities

• Orient and educate all nursing personnel to ensure safe, effective care.
• Report to the Director of Nursing and develop education programs.
• Supervise and monitor new nursing staff during orientation.
• Perform annual competency testing and evaluate staff performance.
• Oversee Employee Health Program activities and immunizations.
