Mesaverdehealthcare in Costa Mesa, CA, seeks a Director of Staff Development (RN/LVN) to lead the facility’s education programs and QA/improvement efforts. Under the Administrator and Director of Nurses, this role plans, implements, and evaluates training for all employees.

The ideal candidate has a nursing degree, active RN/LVN licensure in California, and at least two years of supervisory experience in long-term care, plus a 24-hour CE course in educational program planning and evaluation.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current licensure as an RN or LVN in the state of practice.
• Minimum of two years supervising in a long-term care facility.
• Has a 24-hour CE course in planning, implementing and evaluating nursing education programs.
• Must possess mental and physical health.
• Able to read, write and speak English.

Responsabilités

• Coordinate orientation and onboarding for new employees.
• Provide documentation supporting orientation and file maintenance.
• Ensure timely documentation of histories, physicals and TB screenings.
• Lead in-service training to meet annual 24-hour requirements for nursing staff.
• Maintain in-service records and lesson plan criteria.
• Act as Infection Control Coordinator and supervise infection control policies.
• Make daily rounds to ensure appropriate nursing care and adherence to procedures.
