Job summary

Qualifications

• Demonstrates ability to develop, deliver and evaluate educational programs.
• Working knowledge of high reliability and LEAN process improvement strategies.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and a commitment to education as a methodology for promoting continuous quality improvement in the delivery of patient care and services.
• Knowledge of the principles/theories of adult learning.
• Knowledge of unit based orientation plans.
• Strong skills in the process of educational needs assessments.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Learning Facilitator: Uses the educational design process and adult learning principles to bridge knowledge gaps identified through needs assessment and outcomes evaluation.
• Collaborative Partner: Works with nursing leadership to assess learning needs, develop programs, monitor competency, and support inter-professional learning.
• Role Development: Promote professional nursing practice and quality patient care per ANA standards of practice.
• Mentor: Advance the profession of nursing and the NPD specialty by developing others.
• Competency Management: Use tools to capture knowledge, skill, and performance.
• Orientation: Develops and evaluates onboarding programs during role changes.
• Change Agent: Drive process improvements at micro, meso, and macro levels.
• Champion of Scientific Inquiry: Promote inquiry and use of evidence to improve practice.
