Job summary

The Christ Hospital Health Network seeks a Professional Development Specialist (RN) to lead nursing education across clinical areas. This educator will assess learning needs, design orientation plans, and coordinate preceptors to advance staff competency and patient outcomes.

Ideal candidates hold a BSN with MSN or MEd emphasis, possess strong teaching and leadership skills, and have substantial clinical nursing experience paired with formal educator credentials.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited School of Nursing.
• RN licensure in the state of employment.
• BSN required; MSN with education focus or MEd preferred.
• Certification in Nursing Professional Development within two years.
• BLS required; ACLS and NRP as applicable in specialty areas.
• Minimum five years of clinical nursing experience or three years plus two years of formal educator experience.

Responsibilities

• Onboarding: communicate with new employees, assess learning style and orientation plan.
• Ongoing staff education: evaluate learning needs and update materials.
• Leadership: provide direction and mentorship within department.
• Professional development: support growth and credentialing for peers and staff.
• Coordination: align preceptors and educational events for high-risk/low-volume procedures.
