Job summary

Responsibilities

• Serves as a role model to nursing staff in the delivery of excellent patient care for designated patient populations
• Collaborates with nursing and interdisciplinary colleagues to address complex patient care issues
• Assists staff with clinical decision making and priority setting
• Collaborates with leadership to develop and implement standards of patient care / care planning and professional practice with attention to quality, service, cost effectiveness, comfort, safety, age specific implications, and cultural competence
• Advocates for patients and families, respecting diversity and individual needs
• Promotes patient-centered care and core organizational values
• Facilitates ongoing nursing education and competency development
• Coordinates onboarding curriculum for new nursing staff
• Plans and maintains materials for competency programs
• Assesses learning needs and designs competency programs
• Incorporates adult learning and evidence-based education
• Assists others in developing clinical reasoning skills
• Utilizes simulation, LMS, and virtual classrooms
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Facilitates BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP courses
• Challenges practices to align with current best practices
