Job summary

UofL Health is seeking an RN - Nursing Professional Development (NPD) 1 to partner with leadership and the Professional Development Department to enhance nursing practice and patient care. The role involves facilitating clinical education, competency initiatives, and staff development in clinical, classroom, and virtual settings.

The NPD 1 will support quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and ongoing professional growth while aligning with organizational values and core expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited program (required).
• Minimum of 2 years as a Registered Nurse in area of clinical specialty (required).
• Active unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Kentucky (required).
• Professional nursing certification (ANCC Recognized) in clinical specialty (required, or must obtain within 6 months of hire).
• AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS and/or NRP Instructor (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Serve as a role model in delivering excellent patient care.
• Collaborate with nursing and interdisciplinary colleagues to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care strategies.
• Assist staff with clinical decision making and priority setting.
• Develop and deliver education programs and competency initiatives.
• Coordinate orientation for new employees in the department.
