Job summary

UofL Health seeks an enthusiastic RN for Nursing Professional Development to improve nursing practice and patient care outcomes. The role collaborates with the Professional Development Department to deliver education across clinical, classroom, and virtual settings.

The NPD 1 acts as a clinical expert, supports staff development, and leads competency initiatives in alignment with accreditation standards and organizational values.

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited program (required).
• Minimum of 2 years as a Registered Nurse in area of clinical specialty (required).
• Active unrestricted RN license in Kentucky (required).
• Professional nursing certification in clinical specialty (required or must obtain within 6 months of hire).
• AHA BLS Provider and other area-specific resuscitation certifications required (or as area dictates).

Responsibilities

• Serve as a clinical expert and learning facilitator for nursing staff and students.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate education and competency programs.
• Coordinate orientation for new hires and ongoing staff development.
• Incorporate evidence-based practice into educational programming and improve patient care outcomes.
