Qualifications

• Education: BSN.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of active clinical nursing experience.
• Experience in acute care or ambulatory/ancillary environments.
• Preceptor experience required.
• Licensure: CT RN license before hire.
• NPD or Clinical Specialty Certification within two years of hire.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Learning Facilitator: Uses the educational design process and adult learning principles to bridge the knowledge, skills and/or practice gaps identified through learning needs assessment and evaluation of outcomes.
• Collaborative Partner: Collaborates with nursing leadership to assess learning needs, develops programs, monitors clinical competency and supports action plans.Represents nursing in inter-professional learning activities.
• Role Development: Promotes professional nursing practice and quality patient care according to ANA standards of practice.
• Mentor: Advances the profession of nursing and the NPD specialty by contributing to the professional development of others.
• Competency Management: Utilizes tools to capture knowledge, skill, ability judgment and performance during the practice.
• Orientation: Develops, facilitates, conducts and evaluates programs during onboarding and role changes.
• Change Agent: Works to transform processes at micro/meso/macro system levels.
• Champion of Scientific Inquiry: Promotes inquiry and dissemination of new knowledge to advance NPD practice.
