Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Illinois.
• Certification in Basic CPR.
• Current experience within past five years or new nursing graduate within past two years; if less than six months, approval required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Provide pre-attending care for patients with comprehensive assessments.
• Perform routine nursing duties including phlebotomy, medication administration and vital signs; complex procedures as needed.
• Interpret abnormalities from tests and take remedial action; document interventions.
• Communicate and collaborate with other departments to coordinate patient care.
• Triage and prioritize incoming telephone calls using clinical assessment skills.
• Manage urgent/emergent medical situations per organization protocols.
• Serve as a resource for staff and physicians for problem solving and decision making.
• Comply with all policies and procedures related to patient care; propose improvements.
• Initiate and coordinate patient education and staff teaching.
