Brightpoint Community College in the Greater Richmond area seeks a qualified Registered Nurse to serve as an adjunct instructor for nursing aide certification courses. The role involves teaching face‑to‑face classes that prepare students for practical nursing aide certification.

The ideal candidate has an active Virginia nursing license, at least two years of RN experience within the last five years, and experience with geriatric care.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current, unrestricted Virginia license.
• At least two years of RN experience within the last five years.
• Minimum one year of long‑term care facility experience.
• Experience caring for geriatric populations.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to teach day, evening, and weekend classes.
• Flexibility to work at multiple college locations.

Responsabilités

• Teach the equivalent of 7–12 credit hours per semester.
• Engage students in the learning process.
• Provide clinical supervision of students.
• Revise course and curriculum materials.
• Maintain accurate student files.
• Represent Brightpoint Community College at community events.
• Maintain positive relationships with community partners.
• Assist with agency or state government duties during emergencies as needed.
• Complete criminal background check successfully.
