Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a seasoned mechanical engineer to contribute to nuclear power plant systems design. The role involves creating and reviewing modification packages, drawings, and analyses for plant systems, along with preparing procurement docs and vendor bid evaluations.

The position operates on a hybrid schedule with in-office work three days per week and remote work two days. Candidates should have 7+ years in power and be familiar with relevant codes and standards.

Qualifications

• BSME with emphasis in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering from ABET- or Canadian-accreditation program.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in the power industry.
• Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations for mechanical design of power plants.

Responsibilities

• Modify packages for operating nuclear power plants.
• Prepare or review functional mechanical drawings for plant systems.
• Conduct engineering analyses to support modifications and operation of plant systems.
• Prepare procurement documents and technical specifications for plant equipment.
• Evaluate vendor bids for plant equipment.
• Study options for modifications to operating plants.
• Develop engineering cost estimates for small to mid-sized client work scopes.
• Interface with clients on site and present engineering task/status updates.
• Lead engineering project teams.
