Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Structural Engineer to contribute to the design and analysis of structural systems for nuclear facilities. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on a range of projects, developing calculations, specs, and drawings.

The role emphasizes hands-on design, wind and seismic analyses, and the use of modern tools with strong mentorship.Hybrid work requires in-office presence three days per week at our Nuclear Power Group.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
• 1+ years of applicable experience or an MSCE with strong academic background
• Knowledge of practical structural engineering applications
• Knowledge of design techniques for production of technical plans, drawings, and models
• Proficiency with MS Office applications
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Desirable: FE exam and Engineering in Training designation
• MSCE degree and familiarity with STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL or ANSYS
• Familiarity with IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI

Responsibilities

• Prepare design calculations and develop specifications
• Support designers with drawing development
• Perform structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, equipment and piping supports, and foundations
• Conduct analyses including wind and seismic loading
