Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Lead Auditor to own the audit program under our nuclear quality assurance framework, aligned with ASME NQA-1. You plan the annual schedule, lead internal and supplier audits, and write audit reports while verifying corrective actions.

You will work with licensee quality organizations, maintain independence, manage qualification files, and support audits at multiple sites with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Current qualification as an NQA-1 Lead Auditor, or qualifiable within 90 days.
• Documented auditing training, participation in a minimum number of audits, and a written examination per NQA-1 Part II Subpart 2.23.
• 5+ years in nuclear quality assurance with hands-on audits to 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and NQA-1.
• Working knowledge of construction materials testing, special inspection, or geotechnical services strongly preferred.
• ASQ CQA a plus.
• Writes audit reports that an NRC inspector could follow without a conversation.
• Comfortable delivering findings to the people who caused them.

Responsibilities

• Plan and maintain the audit schedule for the nuclear QA program.
• Lead audits end to end — notification, checklist, entrance meeting, objective evidence, findings, exit meeting, report.
• Supervise auditors and technical specialists on the audit team.
• Evaluate and audit suppliers of safety-related items and services.
• Recommend approved-supplier-list additions, conditions, and removals.
• Perform surveillances; classify findings and issue corrective-action requests.
• Verify effectiveness of corrective actions and close them with objective evidence.
