Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a senior electrical engineer in Knoxville with 20+ years’ experience in nuclear power plant electrical systems. You will lead multi-discipline project teams, develop scope, cost estimates, and schedules, and provide technical oversight on design change packages and vendor evaluations.

The role emphasizes client liaison, detailed engineering, and proposal development for complex modifications. Hybrid work is offered with three days in the office.

Qualifications

• BS in electrical engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 20+ years designing electrical systems for power plants.
• Experience with design change packages, calculations, specs.
• Experience as liaison in lead engineering role.
• Electrical system design including LV/MV distribution.

Responsibilities

• Lead group efforts to complete electrical engineering deliverables to meet technical, quality, cost and project controls expectations.
• Define scope and deliverables for the group.
• Review status and track progress to maintain scope/budget and inform client.
• Conduct routine status meetings and submit progress reports.
• Track and resolve open items and emergent issues.
• Coordinate completion of project deliverables.
• Develop project scope, cost estimates, and schedules for complex electrical modifications at nuclear plants.
• Develop proposals for complex electrical modifications at nuclear plants.
• Provide technical oversight for engineering activities including design change packages, calculations, procurement specs, and bid reviews.
• Interface with the client and validate scope to ensure client satisfaction.
• Mentor and guide development of the group.
• Identify client needs for strategic opportunities and follow up.
• Leverage client relationships to develop follow-on work; prepare multi-discipline proposals.
