Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Knoxville, TN seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead our Nuclear Power Group on multi-discipline projects. You will guide design through calculations, specs and drawings, coordinating with client teams to meet scope, quality and schedule.

This hybrid role requires a BSEE from an ABET-accredited program, 10 years of nuclear electrical design and 3 years of leadership. PE licensure is preferred and badge access is required.

Qualifications

• BSEE from ABET-accredited program.
• 10 years of experience in design of electrical systems for nuclear power plants.
• 3 years leading an engineering design group.
• Experience in selection of equipment, materials, and drafting design change packages.
• Experience as firm/client liaison in a lead engineering role.
• Experience with electrical system design including low/medium voltage distribution.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with MS Office applications.
• Detail oriented approach to work.
• Capable of being badged for unescorted access to a nuclear station.
• PE Licensure is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead group to ensure successful completion of electrical engineering deliverables meeting technical, quality, financial and project controls expectations.
• Define scope and deliverables; review status and progress; conduct routine status meetings; submit progress reports.
• Lead detailed design phases and interface with other disciplines.
• Develop project scope, cost estimates, and schedules for complex electrical modifications at nuclear power plants.
• Provide technical oversight including design change packages, calculations, equipment specs and vendor reviews.
• Interface with the client and coordinate multi-discipline proposals.
