Job summary

Wellstar in Georgia seeks a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to provide safe, age-appropriate imaging procedures and high-quality diagnostic studies. You will set up equipment, position patients, and perform exams per department protocols, exercising independent judgment and initiative.

The role requires ARRT Nuclear Technology or Cert Nuclear Med Tech and at least 1 year of clinical experience, with BLS certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: Associates Radiologic Technology
• Experience: Minimum 1 year in a clinical setting caring for patients (may include clinical rotations)
• Minimum 1 year of Nuclear medicine experience is preferred
• Certifications: ARRT Nuclear Technology or Cert Nuclear Med Tech
• Basic Life Support or BLS - Instructor

Responsibilities

• Adjust technique to optimize image quality while protecting patient safety.
• Report equipment malfunctions to supervisor or service provider for timely correction.
• Clean, disinfect and maintain NM equipment per infection control policy.
• Verify clinician orders and obtain complete clinical history prior to procedures.
• Perform preprocedural verification and Time Out as appropriate.
• Prepare patient, use sterile technique and ensure patient privacy and comfort.
• Operate NM equipment and assist other technologists as needed.
