Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform exams, set up equipment and position patients for procedures while maintaining image quality and patient safety. The role emphasizes infection control, patient comfort, and coordination with radiology teams.

The successful candidate will have an associates degree in Radiologic Technology, ARRT Nuclear Certification (CNMT) and a minimum of one year in a clinical setting, with nuclear medicine experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates Radiologic Technology required or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of clinical patient care experience; nuclear medicine experience preferred.
• Certifications required at hire: ARRT Nuclear Technology or CNMT; BLS (Instructor preferred).

Responsibilities

• Perform nuclear medicine exams per department procedures to ensure safe, age-appropriate care.
• Set up equipment and position patients for procedures to obtain quality diagnostic studies.
• Maintain infection control and clean, disinfect and calibrate equipment as scheduled.
• Review images for clinical acceptability and release patients with radiologist guidance.
• Respond to emergencies and restock crash carts; maintain life-support readiness.
• Coordinate with team to complete procedures within scheduled times.
