Job summary

The Nuclear Medicine technologist at Wellstar provides safe, age-appropriate care by performing department exams per procedures. The role requires independent judgment to obtain quality diagnostic studies and sets up equipment for imaging.

Responsibilities include maintaining equipment, patient preparation, preprocedural verification, and adherence to infection control, safety, and documentation standards while delivering compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Radiologic Technology (or equivalent).
• ARRT Nuclear Technologist certification or Nuclear Med Tech certification required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required/Instructor preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate NM equipment and adjust technique to obtain best image quality.
• Verify patient identity and orders; prep patient and perform imaging exams.
• Maintain equipment and ensure cleanliness according to policy; follow infection control guidelines.
• Assist radiologists; participate in documentation and PACS/RIS processes.
• Respond to emergencies and keep life-support equipment ready.
