Wellstar is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for PRN coverage in Georgia. The role involves performing a variety of nuclear medicine procedures, ensuring patient safety, and producing quality diagnostic images following department protocols.

Responsibilities include preparing equipment, verifying orders and patient identity, and assisting in other modalities as needed. Requires ARRT/Nuclear certification and BLS, with at least one year of clinical experience.

Qualifications

• Associates Radiologic Technology required.
• Minimum 1 year of clinical patient care experience.
• Nuclear medicine experience preferred.
• ARRT Nuclear Technology or Cert Nuclear Med Tech required.
• BLS certification required or Instructor level.

Responsabilités

• Demonstrates ability to adjust technique for best study and image quality.
• Reports equipment problems to maintenance to fix promptly.
• Cleans, disinfects and maintains equipment per infection control.
• Verifies clinician orders and patient identity prior to procedures.
• Obtains patient history and assesses contraindications for procedures.
• Administers radiopharmaceuticals safely and monitors patient condition.
• Reviews images and releases patients after ensuring clinical acceptability.
• Responds to emergencies and restocks crash cart and life support equipment.
• Assists other technologists in modalities as needed.
• Prepares patients, maintains sterile technique, and venipuncture competency.
