Job summary

Shields Health Care seeks a PET technologist to provide a professional, caring atmosphere in a fast-paced clinical setting. You will operate PET equipment, ensure patient safety, and manage data entry and film provision for radiologists.

The role requires a state license, CPR, ARRT/NMTCB registration, and at least one year of nuclear medicine experience, with strong interpersonal and IV skills.

Qualifications

• Must possess a state license for the state of employment.
• CPR certification required.
• ARRT and/or NMTCB registration required.
• Minimum 1 year nuclear medicine experience.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in starting IVs.
• Must be able to sit and use a computer for extended periods.
• Must assist patients with mobility and lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Follow Shields Health Care Group policies and NRC/state/JCAHO regulations.
• Explain exam procedures to patients at appropriate level of understanding.
• Operate PET equipment to produce images and measure radiotracer concentrations.
• Perform hot lab responsibilities and ensure patient safety.
• Position patients comfortably and maintain contact during the exam.
• Record data in the Tech Data Entry system and forward data to Radiologist.

Job Summary:In keeping with Shields Health Care commitment to excellence, the PET technologist will provide a professional, caring atmosphere to all customer groups, while maintaining a fast-paced, multi-tasked oriented clinical environment.Job Description:What you will do:Follow all Shields Health Care Group policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times.Follow rules and regulations established by the NRC, state regulatory agencies, and JCAHO.Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.Operate PET equipment to produce images and measure concentrations of Radioactive Isotopes in specific body areas and body products.Performs all hot lab responsibilities.Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.Complete all forms pertaining to patient’s exam.Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.Provide and issue films when appropriate.Forward PET related data to Radiologist upon completion of exam.Refilm cases as time allowsAssist clerical staff as circumstances arise.Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed.Required QualificationsWhat you need:Must possess a state license for the state(s) in which he/she is employed to workMust be certified in CPRMust be registered by the ARRT and/or NMTCB.A minimum of one-year prior nuclear medicine experience is required. Must be able to push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds.Additional Job Description:Pay range for this position is $32 - $60/hr + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.It is not intended that this Job Description include all details of the work functions of this position.
