Job summary

Shields Health Care Group, Inc. is seeking a PET technologist to provide a professional, caring atmosphere in a fast-paced clinical setting while maintaining exceptional patient care during PET procedures.

The role requires state licensure, ARRT/NMTCB registration, CPR certification, and at least one year in nuclear medicine, with strong interpersonal and IV skills to support accurate imaging and patient safety.

Qualifications

  • Possess a state license in the state(s) of employment.
  • Certified in CPR.
  • Registered by the ARRT and/or NMTCB.
  • Minimum of one year prior nuclear medicine experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in starting IVs.
  • Ability to sit and utilize a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to assist patients with mobility difficulties.
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty‑five pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all Shields Health Care Group policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times.
  • Follow rules and regulations established by the NRC, state regulatory agencies, and JCAHO.
  • Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.
  • Operate PET equipment to produce images and measure concentrations of radioactive isotopes in specific body areas and body products.
  • Perform all hot lab responsibilities.
  • Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.
  • Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.
  • Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.
  • Complete all forms pertaining to the patient’s exam.
  • Record patient data in the Tech Data Entry program.
  • Provide and issue films when appropriate.
  • Forward PET related data to the radiologist upon completion of exam.
  • Refilm cases as time allows.
  • Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise.
  • Clean and re‑supply equipment and rooms as needed.

What You Will Do
