Job summary

Shields Health Care Group is seeking a Nuclear Med/PET Technologist for the Weymouth, MA area. This part-time role includes shifts on Mondays and Fridays, 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, with responsibilities spanning PET imaging, hot lab duties, patient positioning, data entry, and collaboration with radiologists.

The ideal candidate holds a state license, ARRT/NMTCB, CPR certification, and at least one year of nuclear medicine experience, with strong interpersonal and IV skills.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid state license for the state of employment.
• CPR certification is required.
• ARRT and/or NMTCB registration required.
• Minimum one year of nuclear medicine experience.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and patient-care oriented.
• Proficient in starting IVs.
• Able to sit at a computer for extended periods.
• Able to assist patients with mobility and lift 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Follow NRC, state, and JCAHO regulations to ensure patient safety.
• Operate PET equipment to acquire images and measure tracer concentrations.
• Perform all hot lab responsibilities and proper film handling.
• Position and comfort patients while maintaining continuous contact.
• Document patient data and forward to Radiologist after exams.
• Prepare and clean exam rooms and re-supply equipment.

Shifts: Mondays & Fridays 7a-5:30p**Job Description:****What you will do:*** Follow all Shields Health Care Group policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times.* Follow rules and regulations established by the NRC, state regulatory agencies, and JCAHO.* Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.* Operate PET equipment to produce images and measure concentrations of Radioactive Isotopes in specific body areas and body products.* Performs all hot lab responsibilities.* Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.* Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.* Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.* Complete all forms pertaining to patient’s exam.* Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.* Provide and issue films when appropriate.* Forward PET related data to Radiologist upon completion of exam.* Refilm cases as time allows* Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise.* Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed.**Required Qualifications****What you need:*** Must possess a state license for the state(s) in which he/she is employed to work* Must be certified in CPR* Must be registered by the ARRT and/or NMTCB.* A minimum of one-year prior nuclear medicine experience is required. Excellent interpersonal skills are required. Must be proficient in starting IVs.* Must be able to sit and utilize a computer for extended periods of time. Must be able to assist patients with mobility difficulties. Must be able to push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds.**Additional Job Description:**Pay range for this position is $32 - $60/hr + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.It is not intended that this Job Description include all details of the work functions of this position.
