Job summary

Shields Imaging at Anna Jaques Hospital, LLC seeks a PET technologist to deliver professional, patient-focused imaging services in a fast-paced clinical setting.

The role requires ARRT/NMTCB registration, state licensure, CPR, and at least one year of nuclear medicine experience, with strong interpersonal and IV skills. You will follow NRC/state rules, perform PET imaging, and handle data entry, film provision, and data forwarding to Radiologist.

Job Summary

Job Description

What you will do

• Follow all Shields Health Care Group policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times.
• Follow rules and regulations established by the NRC, state regulatory agencies, and JCAHO.
• Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.
• Operate PET equipment to produce images and measure concentrations of Radioactive Isotopes in specific body areas and body products.
• Performs all hot lab responsibilities.
• Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.
• Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.
• Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.
• Complete all forms pertaining to patient’s exam.
• Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.
• Provide and issue films when appropriate.
• Forward PET related data to Radiologist upon completion of exam.
• Refilm cases as time allows.
• Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise.
• Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Must possess a state license for the state(s) in which he/she is employed to work.
• Must be certified in CPR.
• Must be registered by the ARRT and/or NMTCB.
• A minimum of one-year prior nuclear medicine experience is required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills are required.
• Must be proficient in starting IVs.
• Must be able to sit and utilize a computer for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to assist patients with mobility difficulties.
• Must be able to push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds.

Additional Job Description

Pay range for this position is $32 - $60/hr + benefits.

Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
