Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is expanding its Nuclear Power Group in the U.S. to support digitization of existing plants and new builds, including SMRs.

This mid-level I&C design engineering role focuses on instrumentation and control systems across digital and analog domains, requiring collaboration with project teams and clients to meet specifications. The position offers hybrid work with three days in the office weekly and opportunities to mentor junior engineers while delivering high-quality design

Qualifications

• A BS degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program with coursework in analog and digital control, systems engineering, mechatronics, or robotics.
• 3+ years of design engineering experience for process control systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in reviewing design drawings created by others.
• Valued but not required: experience in nuclear plant control systems.
• PE license is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Interface with discipline engineers and the client to ensure requirements are met.
• Work on major process controls projects in digital systems, instrumentation, and control systems.
• Prepare documentation for design input, drawings, and schematics.
• Interface with vendors and prepare equipment purchase specifications.
• Prepare reports/studies presenting technical information clearly.
• Attend client meetings and perform site walkdowns.
• Provide mentorship to less experienced I&C design engineers.
