Job summary

S&ME is seeking a Field Geotechnical Engineer or Geologist to join our nuclear projects team. You will support site characterization, field exploration, and QA/QC activities across multiple nuclear sites, traveling as needed and coordinating with drilling crews and laboratories.

The ideal candidate has solid field experience, strong data interpretation skills, and the ability to deliver clear technical reports for regulators and clients, while thriving in demanding project environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, or a related field.
• 2 years of geotechnical engineering, geology, or consulting experience; field subsurface exploration required.
• EIT, GIT, PE, or PG certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct fieldwork including soil borings, drilling oversight, monitoring well installation, and in-situ testing.
• Analyze subsurface conditions and interpret geological and geotechnical data.
• Prepare data tables, figures, and graphical presentations.
• Perform construction and environmental inspections and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with drilling contractors, laboratories, vendors, and project teams; communicate with clients and regulators.
