Job summary

S&ME is seeking a Field Geotechnical Engineer or Geologist (Nuclear) to support civil, geotechnical, and environmental projects with a focus on nuclear sites. The role involves field investigations, data analysis, and reporting across multiple locations, with travel away from home for extended rotations.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Engineering or Geology and 2 years of geotechnical experience, with nuclear project exposure considered a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, or a related field.
• 2 years of geotechnical engineering, geology, or consulting experience.
• Field subsurface exploration experience is required.
• Experience on nuclear projects or in highly regulated environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field investigations including soil borings, drilling oversight, monitoring well installation, and in-situ testing.
• Analyze subsurface conditions and interpret geological and geotechnical data.
• Prepare data tables, figures, and technical reports for client and regulatory review.
• Coordinate with drilling contractors, laboratories, vendors, and project teams.
• Support quality assurance, field verification, and regulatory compliance activities.
