Job summary

S&ME is seeking a Field Geotechnical Engineer or Geologist to support nuclear project sites, performing site exploration, testing, and data interpretation. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to support permitting, licensing, and QA for nuclear facilities.

Expect significant fieldwork and travel, with rotations across Knoxville, Charlotte, Raleigh, and other markets. A bachelor's degree and field subsurface experience are required, with professional credentials a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, or a related field.
• 2 years of geotechnical engineering, geology, or consulting experience.
• Field subsurface exploration experience is required.
• Experience on nuclear projects or in regulated environments is a plus.
• EIT, GIT, PE, or PG credentials are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct fieldwork including soil borings, drilling oversight, monitoring well installation, and in-situ testing.
• Analyze subsurface conditions and interpret geological and geotechnical data.
• Prepare data tables, figures, and graphical presentations for reports.
