Job summary

S&ME is seeking a Field Geotechnical Engineer or Geologist to join our nuclear-sector team, focusing on site characterization, subsurface exploration, and QA/QC during permitting and construction. You will travel to field sites and support multiple nuclear projects with expanding exposure to related markets.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Engineering or Geology, at least 2 years’ geotechnical experience, and a willingness to rotate 10 days on / 4 days off.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, or a related field.
• 2 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, geology, or consulting.
• Field subsurface exploration experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct fieldwork including soil borings, drilling oversight, monitoring well installation, and in-situ testing.
• Analyze subsurface conditions and interpret geological and geotechnical data.
• Prepare data tables, figures, and graphical presentations.
• Perform construction and environmental inspections.
• Coordinate with drilling contractors, laboratories, vendors, and project teams.
