Job summary

Aecon Group Inc. Nuclear division is seeking a Field Engineer to support fabrication projects by assisting the Field Engineering Manager and coordinating schedules, manpower, and contractor relations.

The role requires strong cost controls, ability to read orthographic and isometric drawings, and proficiency with CAD and Microsoft Office. You will help ensure contracts are invoiced with complete documentation and support project reviews.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in fabrication or related industries.
• Detail oriented with strong cost controls and budgeting skills.
• Ability to read orthographic and isometric drawings.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Project and basic databases.
• Good interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate project requirements with functional groups (Drafting, Materials Management, Production, Quality, Shipping).
• Set up budgets and budget revisions for all projects.
• Assist the Field Engineering Manager with documentation required for jobs, including schedules and manpower charts; invoices and supporting documentation.
• Alert management to possible risks or potential problems and assist in their resolution.
• Initiate and conduct cost, revenue and margin analysis reports.
• Create, maintain, and update customer time & material rates and billings.
• Monitor payment status on all contracts and coordinate receivables.
• Maintain filing system for contract documents and ensure invoicing is complete with supporting docs.
• Prepare material and labor take-offs for estimating; read project drawings and BOMs.
• Invoicing of completed spools shipped to customers.
