Job summary

GEM Technologies, Inc. seeks a Construction Engineer/Manager in Oak Ridge, TN to lead planning, coordination, and field execution of nuclear facility modifications, infrastructure upgrades, and new installations.

You will interface with Design Engineering, Operations, and EPC partners while ensuring safety, quality, cost, and regulatory compliance. The role requires a DOE Q or DoD Top Secret clearance, a strong background in multi‑discipline construction, and hands‑on engineering leadership to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution; 5+ years of construction or field engineering experience in industrial facilities.
• United States citizenship required due to federal nature of work.
• Active or recently active DOE “Q” Clearance or DoD “Top Secret” Clearance required.
• Experience leading multi‑discipline construction activities and managing field teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead construction engineering and field execution for modification projects and new installations.
• Interface with Design Engineering, Operations, Project Management, EPC contractors, and vendors.
• Mentor construction engineers and field personnel; provide technical direction.
• Translate designs into work packages, permits, ITPs, hold points, testing, and turnover criteria.
• Manage RFIs/RFCs, NCRs, redlines, and as‑built documentation for configuration control.
• Oversee multi‑discipline scopes including civil/structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation.
• Ensure safety, quality, cost, schedule, and regulatory compliance across projects.
• Drive readiness for operations with complete turnover documentation and testing.
