Job summary

ENERCON is seeking a leader to join our nuclear design team, based in Naperville, IL, with possible remote options across the U.S. This role focuses on leading electrical engineering teams, approving designs, mentoring engineers, and strengthening client relationships to deliver high-quality projects on time.

You will supervise a technical unit, ensure safety and quality standards, manage budgets and schedules, and collaborate with PMs and clients.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
Minimum 6 years of experience in design engineering in power generation or nuclear power with at least 2 years as a group lead or supervisor.
Professional Engineering License is required.
Advanced knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills.
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time; duration of travel may vary depending on project and technical team needs.
Ability to obtain unescorted access to a nuclear power plant.

Responsibilities

Lead unit leadership and manage staff; approve timesheets and annual appraisals.
Ensure unit quality; establish and enforce quality standards; certify design documents as required by codes.
Collaborate with Project Managers to meet budget and schedule; lead proposal preparation with input for scope and budget.
Provide coaching and professional development for staff; promote licenses, certifications, and training.
Support staffing plans and administrative processes.
