Job summary

ENERCON Services, Inc. seeks a seasoned electrical engineering leader to guide the nuclear design group across multiple U.S. locations, including Huntsville, AL, and other sites.

The role emphasizes unit leadership, technical oversight, and mentoring engineers to deliver high-quality designs for low and medium voltage systems. You will approve designs, manage budgets/schedules with Project Managers, develop client relationships, and lead staff development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• A minimum of 6 years of design engineering experience in power generation or nuclear power, with at least 2 years as a group lead or supervisor.
• Professional Engineering License is required.
• Advanced knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
• Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time; travel duration may vary by project and team needs.
• Ability to motivate a team and achieve goals through positive leadership.
• Proven experience with high level decision making, directing and overseeing complex technical work.
• Ability to obtain unescorted access to a nuclear power plant.

Responsibilities

• Unit Leadership & Management: Direct/assign work, approve timesheets, conduct performance appraisals, support recruitment.
• Quality Control & Technical Oversight: Maintain unit quality; certify design documents per codes and standards; provide technical leadership.
• Project Management & Client Relations: Meet budgets/schedules; approve documents; develop client relationships; market the unit's capabilities.
• Staff Development & Performance: Provide feedback and coaching; promote licenses, certifications, training, and mentoring.
• Administrative Support: Align with company policies; assist staffing planning based on projections #LI-MB1
