Job summary

ENERCON is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join our Nuclear Design Group. You will work on electrical system design for power generation and DOE projects, collaborating across disciplines and mentoring junior engineers.

The role requires a ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering degree, 3+ years of experience, strong communication, and proficiency in Word/Excel. Some travel to project sites is expected, and US citizenship is required due to federal contracts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with design of electrical systems (high voltage, switchgear, motor controls)
• Must have experience in power generation, nuclear power or government (DOE) projects directly or with an engineering/design consulting firm
• Writing, presentation and communication skills
• Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams
• Proficient in Word and Excel
• Due to Federal Contract Requirements, US Citizenship is required
• Approximate travel of 10% as needed

Responsibilities

• Collaborate across disciplines and act as the bridge between engineering teams for seamless project coordination
• Develop design studies, provide engineering calculations and analyses, and participate in project meetings
• Led and mentored junior engineers and supported start-up activities on-project sites
• Draft detailed specifications for electrical equipment and evaluate technical bids
• Perform essential electrical calculations forming the foundation of designs and installations
• Travel to project sites for walkdowns and on-site installations as needed
• Support project teams to ensure quality, safety, and regulatory compliance
