Job summary

ENERCON is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join our Nuclear Design Group. This role offers a clear path from mid-level to principal engineer, with training and tools for advancement and career progression.

You will collaborate across disciplines, develop design studies, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to project execution. Some travel to project sites is required as you help drive technical excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited).
• Minimum 3 years of experience designing electrical systems (high voltage, switchgear, motor controls).
• Experience in power generation or nuclear/government (DOE) projects preferred.
• Strong writing, presentation and communication skills.
• Ability to work as an individual contributor or in teams; proficient with Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate across disciplines to ensure seamless integration of design work.
• Develop innovative design studies, define project scopes, and create estimates.
• Draft specifications, evaluate bids, and select suitable electrical solutions.
• Perform essential electrical calculations to support designs and installations.
• Think creatively to solve technical challenges and propel projects forward.
• Travel to project sites, conduct walkdowns, oversee installations.
• Lead and inspire teams with a positive leadership approach.
