Job summary

Teradyne seeks an NPI Manufacturing Engineer to bring electro-mechanical products from concept to volume production. You will partner with cross-functional teams to develop assembly processes, tooling, and documentation to ensure smooth transfers.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering and 2–6 years in manufacturing/NPI, with on-site work in California and up to 25% travel. You will build processes, review designs, and support pilots and transfers.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 2–6 years of manufacturing engineering or NPI experience.
• Experience creating assembly instructions and process documentation.
• Experience designing mechanical parts and fixtures using SolidWorks.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Willing to work on-site in California and travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Identify risks early in product development with cross-functional teams.
• Develop manufacturing plans to transfer new products to volume manufacturing.
• Build and evaluate electro-mechanical assemblies and tooling.
• Create detailed assembly instructions and process documentation.
• Review drawings, BOMs, and design data to define methods.
• Design, document, and qualify assembly tools and fixtures.
• Investigate issues using root-cause analysis with teams.
• Collaborate with suppliers on packaging solutions.
• Provide technical support during pilot builds and transfers.
• Train pilot and contract manufacturers on processes.
• Prepare engineering analyses and recommendations for the project team.
• Contribute to additional NPI and manufacturing projects.
