Job summary

Teradyne is seeking an NPI Manufacturing Engineer for our Deer Park, IL facility. You will collaborate across teams to move new products from concept to high-volume production, building assemblies and developing robust process documentation.

Ideal candidates have a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, 3+ years in manufacturing engineering, and strong SolidWorks skills. This on-site role requires travel up to 10% and offers a competitive salary with benefits.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 3+ years of related work experience in a manufacturing engineering position.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with curiosity to understand how things go together and to suggest design improvements.
• Knowledge of developing assembly processes flows from solid models, BOMs and other design information.
• Knowledge of creating and maintaining detailed product assembly instructions.
• Experience developing mechanical tools and fixtures for assembly of mechanical and electro-mechanical products.
• Ability to design and document parts and assemblies in SolidWorks; familiarity with SolidWorks PDM is a plus.
• Experience with Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work full-time on-site in Deer Park, IL and travel 0–10%.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering groups to resolve design issues early in development.
• Assist in transferring new products to volume manufacturing.
• Build electro-mechanical assemblies to develop the assembly process flow and identify risks.
• Create detailed assembly process documents for pilot production and contract manufacturers.
• Design and qualify assembly tools and fixtures for our products.
• Evaluate assembly issues and work with teams to determine root causes and corrective actions.
• Work with suppliers to design and validate packaging solutions for new products.
• Train personnel on proper assembly methods.
• Support other department projects as needed.
