Job summary

Teradyne, located in Agoura Hills, CA, is seeking an NPI Manufacturing Engineer to bring electro-mechanical products from concept to volume manufacturing. You will partner with cross-functional teams to develop assembly processes, support builds, create manufacturing documentation, design tooling, and address product/process issues.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering and 2–6 years in manufacturing or related fields, with SolidWorks experience and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2–6 years of manufacturing engineering, new product introduction, process engineering, or related field.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and interest in improving electro-mechanical designs.
• Experience developing assembly process flows from solid models, BOMs, and drawings.
• Experience creating and maintaining detailed assembly instructions or manufacturing process docs.
• Experience designing mechanical parts, assemblies, tools or fixtures with SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

• Identify manufacturing, assembly, and design risks early in product development.
• Develop and execute plans to transfer new products to volume manufacturing.
• Build and evaluate electro-mechanical assemblies and determine process improvements.
• Prepare detailed assembly instructions and process documentation for pilot production and contract manufacturers.
• Review designs and BOMs to establish methods and requirements.
• Design tools/fixtures and qualify solutions using standard engineering practices.
• Investigate issues via data collection and root-cause analysis with cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders on packaging solutions.
• Provide support during pilot builds and manufacturing transfer.
• Train personnel on assembly processes and requirements.
• Prepare engineering reports and recommendations for project teams.
• Contribute to additional NPI and manufacturing projects.
