Job summary

Enstall in the Boston area seeks an NPI Engineer to drive new product introductions from concept to production, bridging Engineering, Manufacturing and Supply Chain. You’ll partner with engineers and global suppliers to ensure designs are qualified and launched successfully.

This hands-on role emphasizes solving manufacturing challenges, driving continuous improvement, and turning great designs into scalable production solutions with approximately 40% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years in New Product Introduction, Manufacturing Engineering, or related roles.
• Experience with manufacturing processes such as extrusion, casting, forging, roll forming, machining, stamping, assembly, and injection molding.
• Strong knowledge of DFM, FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, and Lean/Six Sigma methods.
• Experience driving continuous improvement and value engineering initiatives.
• Ability to balance technical detail with business priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical liaison between Engineering teams and manufacturing partners throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Lead Design for Manufacturing (DFM) activities to optimize quality, cost, scalability, and speed to market.
• Collaborate with suppliers early to identify opportunities, risks, and solutions.
• Support new product introductions through tooling, qualification, pilot builds, and ramp-up.
• Work with Design and Quality teams on DFMEA, PFMEA, first article approvals and releases.
• Evaluate and implement manufacturing technologies and supplier capabilities.
• Drive VA/VE initiatives to improve performance while reducing cost and complexity.
• Lead structured problem solving and root cause investigations.
• Support supplier selection, onboarding, and capability development.
• Develop manufacturing processes, assembly methods, and work instructions.
• Manage multiple projects with clear communication on priorities and milestones.
