Job summary

Enstall is seeking an NPI Engineer in a hybrid role located in Phoenix, AZ. You will bridge Engineering and manufacturing to bring innovative solar mounting products from concept to production, leading DFMA, tooling, and pilot builds while collaborating across global suppliers.

You will drive continuous improvement, analyze risks, and guide product releases with DFMEA/PFMEA. Expect about 40% travel and a compensation package reflecting experience and location.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in NPI, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Development, or a similar role.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes such as extrusion, casting, forging, roll forming, machining, stamping, assembly, and injection molding.
  • Strong knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM), FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience driving continuous improvement, process optimization, and value engineering initiatives.
  • Ability to balance technical detail with business priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Confidence working with suppliers, influencing stakeholders, and leading cross-functional projects.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical information for diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency with engineering drawings, 3D modeling tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Willingness to travel approx. 40% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical liaison between Engineering teams and manufacturing partners throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Lead Design for Manufacturing (DFM) activities to optimize for quality, cost, scalability, and speed to market.
  • Partner with suppliers early in the design process to identify manufacturing opportunities, risks, and innovative solutions.
  • Support new product introductions through tooling development, process qualification, pilot builds, and production ramp-up activities.
  • Collaborate with Design and Quality teams to complete DFMEA, PFMEA, first article approvals, and product release activities.
  • Evaluate and implement manufacturing technologies, processes, and supplier capabilities to strengthen the product portfolio and supply chain.
  • Drive VA/VE initiatives to improve performance while reducing cost and complexity.
  • Lead structured problem-solving and root cause investigations for manufacturing and quality challenges.
  • Support supplier selection, onboarding, performance improvement, and long-term capability development.
  • Develop manufacturing processes, assembly methods, packaging solutions, and work instructions for efficient production.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously with clear communication on priorities, risks, and milestones.
