CMI Group Aerospace & Defense in North Phoenix (AZ) seeks an NPI Manufacturing Engineer to drive the transition of new aerospace products from design to production. You will partner with Design, CNC, Quality, and Supply Chain to create robust, cost- effective processes, lead DFMs, and deliver first article and stable production with ISO/AS9100 guidance.

The role requires 3+ years in manufacturing engineering, 3D CAD expertise, and experience with PFMEA/AS9102, tooling, and process documentation.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of related manufacturing engineering experience including NPI or new program launches.
• Hands-on 3D CAD experience.
• Experience creating process routers, manufacturing drawings, and process documentation.
• Familiarity with CNC machining equipment and metal processing.
• Knowledge of AS9102, PFMEA, control plans, and process capability concepts.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and technical specifications accurately.
• Ability to manage multiple projects under pressure with tight deadlines.
• Strong technical writing and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
• Export control: U.S. Person per 22 C.F.R. § 120.15

Aufgaben

• Own the NPI process from RFQ through first article and production release.
• Review drawings and specs for manufacturability risks and tooling needs.
• Develop process routings, cycle-time estimates, and fixture requirements.
• Create detailed manufacturing process plans and routers for new products.
• Lead DFM reviews with design, CNC, and customers; document changes.
• Design and release work-holding fixtures and tooling for machining and assembly.
• Coordinate prototype, pilot, and first-article builds to protect schedule.
• Support FAI per AS9102 with documentation and customer submittals.
• Apply PFMEA and control plans; support process validation and capability studies.
• Develop work instructions, SOPs, and handoffs to production.
