Job summary

CMI Group, based in the Phoenix area, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to plan, develop, and optimize aerospace manufacturing processes on-site at South Phoenix. You will work with CNC programmers, quality, and design engineering to translate designs into efficient, repeatable processes that meet cost, quality, and delivery targets.

The role emphasizes Lean, Six Sigma, and ISO methodologies, with responsibilities spanning process planning, fixture design, troubleshooting, and DFM

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, mechanical, or industrial engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of related manufacturing engineering experience.
• Hands-on 3D CAD experience.
• Experience creating comprehensive process routers and manufacturing drawings.
• Familiarity with CNC machining equipment and metal processing (heat treat, nitride, etc.).
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical specifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication; works well under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and coordinate manufacturing processes in an aerospace/industrial environment.
• Develop detailed process plans for new and existing products to improve yield and reduce cost.
• Create work instructions, SOPs, and process workflows.
• Design work-holding fixtures for machining, welding, and assembly operations.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing issues to minimize downtime and maintain quality.
• Develop engineering models and drawings in SOLIDWORKS with GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and ISO methodologies to daily improvements.
