Job summary

Interconnect Solutions Company is seeking an NPI Manufacturing Engineer in Fountain Valley, CA to lead new product introductions from order through First Article Inspection and full manufacturing readiness.

You will partner with Engineering, Quality, Production, and Supply Chain to review drawings, BOMs, tooling, and build processes, ensuring products meet performance, quality, and customer requirements prior to production release.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or related field.
3+ years in Manufacturing Engineering or NPI roles.
Ability to read complex drawings, specs, BOMs.
Experience with DFMA, process validation, and tooling.
Experience interfacing with production teams and cross-functional partners.
Proficient with Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems.
Lean manufacturing or CI knowledge.
Strong communication and project coordination skills.
Hands-on, fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate the NPI manufacturing process from customer order through production readiness.
Review customer drawings, specs, BOMs, and performance requirements to define manufacturing strategies.
Lead Manufacturing Readiness Reviews (MRRs) and address risks related to tooling, materials, processes, and supply chain readiness.
Develop prototype builds, pilot runs, and process development activities to validate manufacturability.
Troubleshoot build and process issues; perform root cause analysis and drive corrective actions.
Coordinate FAI with Quality and AS9102 documentation when applicable.
Work with Production during prototype to early production builds to resolve gaps.
Develop and maintain routers, BOMs, work instructions, and process specs.
Identify tooling, fixtures, equipment, and automation needs for safe, efficient manufacturing.
Drive DFM/DFA improvements to improve manufacturability, yield, and cost.
Evaluate processes and costs before production release.
Coordinate engineering changes during NPI and early production; update docs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align requirements and launch execution.
Identify NPI risks and drive resolution.
Ensure new products meet quality, regulatory, and customer requirements.
