Job summary

CMI Group in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to translate designs into efficient aerospace manufacturing processes. You will work with CNC programmers, quality, and design engineering to drive cost, quality, and delivery targets through Lean, Six Sigma, and ISO practices.

The role requires hands-on CAD, process routing, and detailed drawings, with a focus on DFx, quality, and productivity improvements in a fast-paced shop floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of related manufacturing engineering experience.
• Hands-on 3D CAD experience required.
• Experience creating comprehensive process routers and manufacturing drawings.
• Familiarity with CNC machining equipment and metal processing.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and coordinate manufacturing processes in an aerospace environment.
• Develop detailed manufacturing process plans for new products.
• Improve existing processes to increase yield and reduce cost.
• Develop work instructions, SOPs, and process workflows.
• Design work-holding fixtures for machining, welding, and assembly.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing issues to minimize downtime.
• Maintain product quality and manufacturing yield across lines.
• Identify cost-reduction and productivity opportunities.
• Collaborate on DFM with CNC programmers and engineers.
• Develop engineering models, assemblies, and SOLIDWORKS drawings.
• Apply GD&T per ASME Y14.5 to all drawings.
• Integrate Six Sigma, Lean, and ISO in daily improvements.
