Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide direct patient care and manage complex medical conditions in ambulatory and/or inpatient settings. The role collaborates with faculty, fellows, residents, and nursing staff to coordinate care and educate patients and families.

The position requires advanced degree, proper licensure, BLS, and prescriptive authority. 0-1 years’ experience; familiarity with health IT systems is expected.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required in Nursing.
• MA Board authorization to practice as an APRN NRSG.
• Valid prescriptive authority from MA DPH-DCP and Federal DEA.
• 0-1 years related work experience required.
• American Heart Association - Basic Life Support Certificate.
• Experience with computer systems including web-based applications and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Performs history and physical examinations, development of care plans, orders and interprets tests, and educates patients and families.
• Acts as educator and clinical resource for staff through consultations, literature reviews, and seminars.
• Coordinates care to provide safe, effective patient-centered care and liaises with nurses, staff, and services.
• Document clinical encounters clearly and timely.
• Collaborate with health professionals to determine patient needs and ensure comprehensive care.
• Provide direct patient care and management for all opioid patients.
