Beth Israel Lahey Health seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a full-time, off-site role in Needham, MA. Some on-call, weekend, and after-hours coverage may be required.

The role provides direct patient care, performs history and physical examinations, develops care plans, orders and interprets tests, and coordinates with nursing and clinical staff. A teaching hospital background is a plus; MA licensure and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing required; Master's preferred.
• Nursing License required; BLS certificate required.
• 0-1 years related work experience desired.
• Prescriptive authority from MA DPH-DCP and Federal DEA required.
• ARC-PA/NCCPA credentials preferred for PA track.
• Experience with computer systems and MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Performs history and physical examinations, formulation of care plans, ordering and interpreting laboratory and diagnostic tests and provides education to patients and their families.
• Acts as an educator and serves as a clinical resource for staff through consultation, formal and informal education, review of literature and seminars.
• Coordinates the care of patients to provide safe, effective, efficient and timely patient-centered care; liaises between visiting nurses, clinical staff and consult services.
• Care plans and execution of those plans should encompass the entire service; consults with physicians/surgeons for complex diagnoses.
• Documents clinical encounters clearly, precisely and in a timely manner.
• Works in a collaborative relationship with other health professionals to determine health needs of patients and families; demonstrates interdisciplinary teamwork.
• Provide direct patient care and management for all opioid patients.
