Job summary

Ascension St. Joseph Hospital Chicago seeks a Nurse Practitioner to provide full-scope general neurology in a busy outpatient/inpatient setting in Chicago, IL. This full-time position offers a base salary of $120,000.00 to $140,000.00 with CME allowance and strong office support staff.

You'll work with a collaborative team, share on-call coverage with colleagues, and care for patients across the continuum with opportunities for professional growth and stable, mission-driven practice.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Nurse Practitioner credentialed from Illinois is required before hire date.

Responsibilities

• Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview, and examination.
• Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies as part of neur ology care.
• Counsels and educates patients and families on preventative care and treatment options.
• Documents care delivery in accordance with nursing standards and network policy.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies. Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and patient care.


• Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.


• Counsels and educates patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.


• Documents delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):


• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.


• Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.


• Preferred Credential(s):


• Registered Nurse.

Education

• Master's degree of Nursing required.
